چکیده
Reference interval limits for cancer biomarkers in geriatrics are rare because priority is given to the development of reference those age range 18–60 years, which normally used clinical trials study. The aim this study was therefore develop gender and age-specific markers CA19-9, CEA, CA 15-3, 125, PSA adults Taita-Taveta County, Kenya, using CLSI CA28-A3 guideline. This prospective cross-sectional involved 244 healthy referents, including 124 females 120 males ages 50–95, between May 2015 December 2017 at Department Clinical Chemistry Moi Subcounty Hospital, Voi, Kenya. Serum 19-9, referents were measured a well-calibrated, quality controlled AutoAnalyzer. Gender differences values assessed Mann-Whitney U test, while Kruskal-Wallis H test followed by with an adjusted significant ρ-value less than 0.0167. expressed terms medians ranged 2.5 97.5 percentiles. established 95% were: 0-58 U/mL 0-42.8 19–9, 0–7 ng/mL 0-56.9 15–3, 0–25 0–6.8 PSA. Gender-related biomarker developed 19-9 (60–70 years), CEA 15-3 adults. Age-related 19–9 not females. In conclusion, gender-related PSA, age-related 19-9. decreased from adulthood early elderly increased more population. These these biomarkers, differed reported previous literature, could be adopted use better medical care. Doi: 10.28991/SciMedJ-2022-04-02-04 Full Text: PDF

CLSI-Derived Hematology and Biochemistry Reference Intervals for Healthy Adults in Eastern and Southern Africa
BACKGROUND Clinical laboratory reference intervals have not been established in many African countries, and non-local intervals are commonly used in clinical trials to screen and monitor adverse events (AEs) among African participants. Using laboratory reference intervals derived from other populations excludes potential trial volunteers in Africa and makes AE assessment challenging. The object...
متن کاملUpper reference limits for biomarkers of exposure to aromatic diisocyanates.
OBJECTIVES The objectives of this study were to determine the levels of 2,4-toluenediamine, 2,6-toluenediamine, 1,5-naphthtalenediamine and 4,4'-methylenediphenyldianiline in hydrolyzed urine and plasma for occupationally unexposed workers and to calculate upper reference limits (URLs). These analytes are biomarkers of exposure to 2,4-toluene diisocyanate and 2,6-toluene diisocyanate (2,4-TDI a...

Background & Objective: Since colorectal cancer does not often have phenotypic symptoms in the early stages, the study of biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of the tumor is very important. MicroRNAs are one of the most important biomarkers which attract the attention of many researchers due to a variety of reasons, including their non-invasive nature; these molecules are a group of non-...
